Baby Turns One and Some NEWS
The summer is slowly, slowly coming to an end. They kids are all back in school, but it was summer weather until just about last week.
Our baby boy turned one and could not have been happier about it. He is the sweetest, happiest kid, and ever curious. We're running out of things for him to dismantle and dissect. He thinks he's just like the big kids and runs out the gate every morning they go to school hoping he can make it there before mom stops him.
We took a quick day trip a little south to La Plata to visit the natural history museum. We were impressed!
The condor is the kid's school mascot, so we needed a picture of course.
Skeletal replicas of five year olds 1,500 years ago. And our own almost five year old. (difference in height due to nutrition)
Nearby in La Plata is this cathedral. It was lovely. Hoping my kids will appreciate these visits one day.
Wesley's teacher was looking for mystery readers to come visit the class. He was lucky enough to have his grandparents come!
The school also put on a "Camp In" which I sent James to do with the older kids. The school is so good about getting families involved and socializing.
Wesley's birthday was celebrated early because we have conflicts around his actual birthday. We went with easy so a bouncy house and donughts kept everyone happy.
James's aunt Elayne and her daughter Ariel came to visit, and we were so delighted they chose to stay with us! Elayne was born in Argentina and went to school at Lincoln, where our kids go. She taught Charlotte and Jack how to make alfajores, and while we couldn't keep up with their storming of the city, we LOVED having them here and catching up with them for a week. They are a delight!
About a month ago James received the news that we will be returning to Washington in July insdeated of December. It's been a scramble and a shock. We're so sad the be missing out on six months of time in Argentina; but we're looking forward to coming back to family, and pre-cut baby carrots. Now we REALLY have to make our time count!
