Summertime and the livin is easy

It's so hard to play catch up on the blog! So many great things have happened, but we have a lot of exciting things coming up and I need to post before I throw up my hands and call it quits!

So most important is that at the beginning of December James' parents returned to us! They are hoping to serve a mission for our Church here and have moved in with us. They made it just in time to watch some very exciting World Cup games and see ARGENTINA WIN THE WORLD CUP!

Semi-finals with the sister missionaries and a couple of our friends.

World Cup Final WIN!! A few more friends, notably our good friend Miguel made it all the way from Salt Lake City, UT to watch the game and spend Christmas with us.

We didn't make it to the city center to celebrate, but near our house a main road was closed off and we found plenty of friends to enjoy the victory.

Then James's sister Angela and her family came down to join the party and spend Christmas with the World Champions.

On Christmas day I had an intestinal allergic reaction to some chocolate that was *next* to a chocolate with pistachio. I didn't realize this allergy was so sensitive, but I spent a good part of the day letting my body clean itself out. Thankfully, there were willing hands to make Christmas dinner without me! And I heard the Nativity was lovely :)

The next day we all packed up and flew to the lovely Bariloche to spend the next week.
In a crazy twist of events James was put on a different flight from the rest of us. Ian was connected to James' reservation so had to go with Dad, but we didn't know that until we had reached security. They were only an hour behind us and everything worked out in the end, but that chalked up to be one of the more stressful airport episodes I've experienced.

This will mostly just be a photo dump:

The brave souls who hiked to the top of Cerro Lopez:

Patagonian mermaids. They're real!!

There are lots of dinosaur fossils in Argentina. We took the kids to this cute park with dinosaurs throughout the forest. The tour guide was probably the highlight. He was so great.

Date to downtown Bariloche and lookout point.

Boat ride to Isla Victoria

Charlotte and Scarlett. Meant to be twins.

Everything went by so fast! The Soffes are back home, and the house is empty without them. We officially hit our one year mark in Argentina last week. It's insane how fast time has flown by. We were hoping to be able to extend our time from two years to three, but we've been told there isn't any flexiblility in the two year limit. So one year left. We're going to make it count!
