The Bonus Post
I'm sneaking this post in mostly for myself, but also for posterity. These are just a few things we want to remeber!
We had some lovely family photos done, and this makes a nice cover photo for this post :)
Microsoft switched to a different building. This one is just next to the other one, but it's brand new and quite swanky.
Morgan holding an important board meeting
Protests happening downtown. All.The.Time. These people are paid by the government to come march. Most of them come from poor towns, they bring their babies and shut down half the city. They don't even know what they're protesting. Politics here are wack.
Along the same lines....people aren't afraid to tell you how they feel. Both James and I have had tounge lashings by some riled up citizen. It could be the failing economy, but people here are pretty angry under the surface. And above.
We did some exploring with the Santimarias and found this cool Spanish style fountain area. It reminded me of visiting Miguel in Spain.
Charlotte won tickets to Parque de la Costa at the school Bingo Night. We were finally able to use them and after spending a good amount of time figuring out how the park worked we had a good time. Would go earlier in the day if we went again.
We had been having an ongoing battle with the pool and trying to keep the water from going murky. We could get it to clear up for a few days, but it would always go back to green pond scum in less than a week. James decided to buy an ionizer and see if that made a difference. And it did! It's just a floating circular thing, but we haven't had any trouble since we put it in. See the difference:
Some more World Cup memories. This was one of the very first games Argentina played. Our friend Grace took this picture. We were all captivated.
The world cup is so fun!
And so are four year old little girls. Imogen with a nest she staged independently. Everything is magic and imagination with this one.
Halloween was celebrated! It's not huge here, but there was one neighborhood downtown advertising trick or treating and games. We got there a little late and by then the candy had disappeared. It was one of those good disappointing life experiences for these American kids. Some families from our school also coordinated trick or treating another night, so candy was collected. It was just the right amount, and after the previous experience the kids were grateful!
We celebrated Thanksgiving with our two American sister missionaries. My Venezuelan friend who runs a cooking business made most of the dinner for us. Best Thanksgiving ever for me!
I'll let you guess what this is
Charlotte is on the middle school swim team and has traveled to Uruguay and Peru to compete against other schools from South America. It's not nearly as competitive as it sounds, but it's a lot of fun and a very cool experience for everyone. She won numerous medals with her relay team!
