The Singletons Come to Visit
Camille (my older sister) and Tyler came to see us!! For some fun reason it's the families with little babies that come down to visit. Camille had baby Matthew in May, and these two cousin twinkies were able to meet in the chubby flesh :)
Admittedly, three-month-olds are pretty easy travel companions, but the last two babies have been coming with older siblings, and it's always a party!
The inaugural milanesa/empanada dinner:
We took a little boat trip out to the delta at Tigre and had lunch. That boat in the background may or may not have been our ride.
Please note the size of Tyler's steak. He could have taken it home as a pet.
Once we got back from lunch we spent a little time checking out the outside of the art museum at Tigre:
Another day we spent the day at an Estancia riding horses, bikes, eating a traditional Argentine asado, and watching/participating in their traditional dance.
Mothers and babies took a buggy ride
Most fascinating interpretive dance with horse cameo
We got really adventurous and found babysitters for all eight children so the adults could go to the symphony at Teatro Colon. It was the most adult thing I think I've done all year. And amazing.
It was a whirlwind of adventure and quality bonding time. There were the crazy mishaps like kids spraying themselves with mace and needing to run to the ER. Or Argentine boarder control stopping me from joining the day trip to Uruguay because I didn't have the correct documentation to leave the country with my own baby (....should have known...now I do). We LOVED their visit and it went by way too fast. Thank you for coming guys!
